When to Replace Your Nasal Cannula

As an RRT, I recommend replacing your nasal cannula every 2–4 weeks with daily use. Longer use allows bacteria and mineral deposits to accumulate inside the tubing and prongs, which can affect delivery and hygiene. For patients prone to skin breakdown behind the ears, soft-wrap tubing covers or padding are recommended.

Is this compatible with my oxygen concentrator?

Yes — this cannula uses the standard barb connector compatible with all home oxygen concentrators including Inogen G3, G4, G5, Rhythm P2, Oxlife Liberty, and VH-2/VH-3 home concentrators.

Can I use extension tubing with this?

Yes — standard 25-foot or 50-foot oxygen extension tubing attaches between the concentrator outlet and the cannula for increased home mobility. Contact us for extension tubing availability.
