It depends on the product. A fully assembled, ready-to-use CPAP mask is classified as a Class II medical device and typically requires a prescription. However, our products are sold as unassembled kits — individual components (cushion, frame, headgear) packaged together but not assembled. Under FDA guidelines, replacement parts and unassembled components do not carry the same Rx requirement, making our kits legally available over the counter. You simply snap the parts together at home in about 30 seconds.

Nasal masks (including nasal pillows) only cover your nose. They're lighter, less claustrophobic, and ideal if you're a nose breather or prefer a minimal seal. Full face masks cover both your nose and mouth — they're essential if you breathe through your mouth during sleep or tend to open your mouth with a nasal mask. Medicare and most insurance guidelines recommend replacing your full mask every 3 months and cushions/pillows every 1–2 months. However, you should replace sooner if you notice: reduced seal causing pressure leaks, cracked or hardened silicone, persistent odor even after cleaning, or if the mask no longer holds pressure. Since our kits are priced 50–60% below retail, frequent replacement is actually affordable — which is how it should be.

Yes! CPAP masks, tubing, and accessories are eligible FSA/HSA expenses. You can use your FSA or HSA card at checkout just like a regular credit card. Most of our mask kits are designed as universal or multi-size kits (e.g., our nasal pillow kit includes S/M/L sizes so you can try all three).
